Prevention and Safety Booths:
Open after the Burn Injury Awareness Walk
It only takes one second for lives to be changed forever by a burn injury. Each year in the United States, nearly one-half million people suffer burn injuries severe enough to require medical treatment.
Increasing community awareness and providing public education on burn/fire safety can have a direct impact on preventing burn injuries.
Please join us in this annual event that brings burn survivors and their families, fire service, first responders, safety and medical professionals, and community members together to walk for burn injury awareness and to prevent injuries from occurring. As part of this awareness initiative, we will have a Safety Education Fair with booth displays by various organizations for the purpose of providing burn prevention and fire safety information to the community.
Cost: There is no charge to host a booth
Parking: On-site and free of charge
Capacity: A limited number of booths will be available, so sign-up early!
Topics: Education provided at the booth can address any aspect of burn and fire prevention. Other community safety topics will be accepted as space allows. Proposed topics will be reviewed and require pre-approval to ensure we offer a variety of topics during the safety fair.
Extras: Organizations are encouraged to bring mascots, giveaways, and/or other fun activities for children and adults to participate.
Set-up: A covered 8-foot table will be provided. Use of safety education trailers and/or service vehicles must be pre-arranged.
